Contact Lenses Las Vegas - iFocus Vision Center
Contact Lenses Las Vegas

For patients who wish to obtain a prescription for contact lenses, a contact lens fitting evaluation is needed in addition to a comprehensive examination. Contact your insurance company to determine if they cover contact lens fittings. Before a contact lens prescription is to be given, an annual contact lens fitting and necessary follow-up visits are required by law for all new and existing contact lens wearers. A fitting for contact lenses Las Vegas includes the following:

  • topographical map of the cornea
  • examination of the cornea, conjunctiva, sclera and tear film as related to contact lens wear
  • determination of the contact lens prescription
  • evaluation of the fit and comfort of the lens
  • trial contact lenses, contact lens solutions and case
  • instructions for care and safety
  • up to 3 months of follow-up visits relating to contact lenses

Dr. Velasco will work with you to determine the best contact lens modality for your lifestyle. The following types of contact lenses are available:

  • Daily wear soft contact lenses - includes daily disposables and silicone extended wear disposables
  • Colored soft contact lenses - offers different tints with a slightly different benefit including eye color enhancement, eye color change, and light-filtering
  • Rigid gas permeable hard contact lenses - more rigid and durable than soft contact lenses and therefore maintain their shape and offer clearer vision for some types of corrections
  • Bifocal contact lenses - has both the distance prescription and near prescription in one lens
  • Toric contact lenses - these are special lenses for those with astigmatism and have two powers, one for the astigmatism and another for nearsightedness or farsightedness
  • Corneal reshaping treatment - most effective for those with mild nearsightedness, these lenses help reshape the cornea and improve vision
