For Keratoconus, presbyopia, post-LASIK, post-RK, post corneal transplant, and other corneal dystrophies. We have various soft, prosthetic color, corneal rigid gas permeable (RGP), and scleral fitting sets.
Treatment of a variety of eye conditions such as glaucoma, "pink eye", herpes keratitis, corneal ulcers, foreign bodies, dry eye and more.
Can be performed as part of a comprehensive eye exam, it captures an instantaneous, ultra-widefield digital image of the retina. An Optomap image provides the practitioner with a tool to help discover the retinal disease, and assist in the diagnosis of eye conditions.
Fees vary depending on the type and complexity of your lens and prescription and includes as many diagnostic lenses needed to find the best contact lens for your eyes, a contact lens care kit and training for new wearers, and 60 days worth of follow-up visits.
Dr. Velasco is passionate about keeping her nearsighted patients from increasing in prescription from year to year. She utilizes multiple methods to control myopia which include: anti-fatigue or digital relaxing lenses, low dose atropine therapy, specialty multifocal soft lenses, MiSight contact lenses, and ortho-keratology lenses.
Dr. Velasco co-manages with your carefully chosen ophthalmologist during your pre- and post-operative periods for refractive or laser surgeries. If you are interested in any refractive procedure, just let Dr. Velasco know during your comprehensive eye exam.
A dilated exam is always included as part of your comprehensive eye exam and should be done on a routine basis. It is especially recommended if you are diabetic, have high blood pressure, have a high prescription, have been diagnosed with certain eye conditions such as ARMD or glaucoma, have never been dilated before, and all children.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests to check visual acuity, eye muscle teaming, color vision, depth perception, refractive status (glasses prescription), health of the front of the eye, and dilation to check the inside of the eye. Dr. Velasco recommends a comprehensive eye exam yearly starting at 6 months of age.
Similar to an MRI or CT scan for the eye, the iWellness Exam uses spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) to produce cross sectional images of the retinal layers in a matter of seconds. Sight threatening conditions and diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and others can be detected with a thorough exam of the retina, including the iWellness Exam.
